Dull
04:03
|
|||
I can't stop breaking out.
Another mouth to feed on my conscience.
I don't know my address,
But I remember where I live
I'll tell you everything.
I just keep passing out.
I'm never quite asleep or conscious.
Since I've become devout
I gave up everything
that won't spike dopamine.
I keep it dull
So I don't break the skin.
I keep it full
So I don't have a fit.
I need to pander
Candor sounds to delicate.
I've chosen slavery over bravery
Something I've never shown
And I deal with it.
Don't stop
I could follow this
Don't stop
I want to swallow this
Don't stop
They can't take all of us
Don't stop.
Don't stop
I hear everything
Don't stop
The hum of wiring
Don't stop
The insects skittering
Don't stop.
I keep it dull
So I don't break the skin.
I keep it full
So I don't have a fit.
I need to pander
Candor sounds to delicate.
I've chosen slavery over bravery
Something I've never shown
And I deal with it.

My Walls Keep Bleeding
03:02
|
|||
I smell burning toast.
At least that means I'm eating.
I told the ghost that I don't believe in unbodied things
But my walls still keep bleeding.
I said to pick me up, the stores are all closing.
I've got a little lump I can see from the highway.
When my shirt comes untucked I feel my skin crawling.
I'm swallowing air
I shatter to bits at the thought, what a horrible thing.
I'm very frightened, I've eaten through everything.
When I'm feeling hollow I throb like a timpani.
Slack flesh
Loose teeth
I count on the ribs that aren't broken.
Filled up on paper and string
A nest for a family of rodents.
The mirror is haunted and only I can see.
I want a body that's stainless a sight that is painless
Staring at me.
I said to pick me up, the stores are all closing.
I've got a little lump and it looks like a mountain.
When my shirt comes untucked the mess starts escaping.
I'm swallowing air so I can't tell I'm starving
I shatter to bits at the thought...
I said to pick me up, my clothes are all hanging.
I've got a little lump and it looks like a mountain.
When my shirt comes untucked the mess starts escaping.
The hunger is mine and no one else controls it
I shatter to bits at the thought what a bottomless thing.

The Alarmist
02:59
|
|||
Is it helpful? Is It true? Is it kind?
Is it within your control?
Are you breathing easy now
That you have figured out
That the killers calls were coming from inside your home?
Is it hurtful? Is it cruel? Is it quiet?
Is it someone you used to know?
Are you sleeping better now
The nightmares aren't as loud
When you wake up into something so much worse?
I'm just glad to know
I'm just glad to know
I'm just glad to know
This is not really happening?
Are you sitting down?
You better brace yourself.
You'll wish you could erase yourself
but someone keeps redrawing all your lines.
I'm no alarmist,
It's just my heart's exploding.
That's just my racing thoughts
Pacing my imaginary crimes.
I'll dig my own grave,
and put this nervous energy to work!
I'm fine
give me something I can hold onto.
Aren't you glad to know
Aren't you glad to know
Aren't you glad to know
This is not really happening?
Aren't you glad to know
(I'm no alarmist)
Aren't you glad to know
(I'm no alarmist)
Aren't you glad to know
This is not really happening?
And when they ask me if I'm resting and practicing self care
(I'm no alarmist)
While it's still sitting on my chest and I'm drowning in it's hair.
(I'm no alarmist)
"I feel much better, thanks." I lie and smile, my back teeth shatter.
(I'm no alarmist)
"I'm just relaxing knowing this is not really happening to me."

The Lawn Stays Nice
03:59
|
|||
I care about your hobbies.
I swear, no tears and no dark topics.
I'll keep you amused,
I'll save the daily refuse and let it pile inside
So the lawn stays nice.
When the make-up starts to fade
and the highlights start to dim.
When the cast begins to age
and the audience turns on them.
When the award show music plays
and the lifetime’s been achieved.
When they can't afford your rate
so you give yourself for free.
I'm there for your pet project
I share to seem cathartic
I'm free
Of all the dread and darkness
I'll be
Whatever keeps you calmest
I'll comb the leaves out of my hair
And wear a shirt that's fairly clean.
I'll reassure you and declare
That things are going well for me.
When life was uniformed and lining up like golf umbrellas
They'd go berserk and kill someone
When winds got overzealous.
You just need to name the place,
My schedule is liquid.
I'll put on your favorite face and we can talk about traffic.
I'll chase food around a plate,
I won't hurt anybody
And I'll put on your favorite face and say things aren't so tragic.
I'm here
Your favorite hobby.
Warehoused, in case you want me.
I'm free
In almost every essence.
I'll see you when this weather passes.
If I can be of use,
I'll save the daily refuse
And let it pile inside
So the lawn stays nice.
